it was a privilege to stay here in the heart of Assisi with an unparalleld view over the valley... our hosts were incredibly helpful - the breakfasts delicious - the room quiet and spotless..easy internet access..awoken to the sound of birds and bells... a few moments away from Basilica....we didn't want to leave.. would recommend this beautiful place unconditionally.
we are very appreciative of Kelly's help with getting a car to rent and other support.
the austerity was a bit dissappointing. seems that a lot could be gained by investing very little in lifting the spirits of the hotel by adding color. it was a quite a dreary place. I recommend you take a look at photos of the Imperial B & B in Rome for some good examples of how creative use of a little paint (which is cheap) and fabric (can also be cheap) can transform a small plain room into a sweet, romantic, cozy and memorable experience. I will happily refer people to the Imperial. Not so much to the Battistero.
The owner of the hotel waited for us to come even if we were 2 hours late after the check-in time and helped with the parking in the city.
It was noisy because of the street sounds.
Was an amazing view and position-could be noisy with windows open, but there were shutters so ok. Very convenient for all the sights-right in Duomo Square. Beds were comfortable and clean. Breakfast was dlivered to our room-it was adequate. The owner was very helpful to carry up our bags 4 floors as there is no lift being in an old building. We were thankful for help with taxis, to and from our car which had to be parked outside of the old city centre.
The only drawback I can see was the stairs to take up the luggage-4 floors but the owners helped us or we couldnt have managed it.Couldnt have the windows open because of the noise from the street and the bells, but there was a fan so that didnt matter and was part of the charm of staying right in the centre of Florence.
Perfect location, friendly staff, tasty hot chocolate and most rooms have a stunning view of the duomo.
Breakfast is (quite) poor, the single room and bathroom are quite small and there is no elevator (lots of stairs)
Great location, staff very helpful and friendly. Room was a good size and very well kept. Breakfast was basic but nice.
Going to get your exercise as the hotel is 3 stories up!
Very nice and friendly owner who helped us a lot: made reservations to museums and gave advice about where to go etc. We were allowed to keep our luggage at the hotel even after checking out. Pefect location!
Not possible to drive to the hotel (the center of the town is not allowed for cars). I hope they get the elevator soon (they were promised it would be ready in March but it will certainly not be there before September).
The location was excellent as well as the view. The host was most gracious and helpful, making our stay there very exciting. It was very memorable and would recommend this place to anyone.
Well here as in many places in Europe, the age of the cities and towns are very old. Saying that , some do not have the new amenities such as an elevator for getting to the floor where your room is. So it might prove a little difficult for a person with special needs or handicapped in some way. That is not meant to detract from the beauty and specialness of this place.
It is literally across from the Duomo and Baptistry. It is ground-zero for tourists.
It is a long climb up to the hotel.
A warm and welcoming b&b in a very, though at times a little noisy, location in the heart of Renaissance Florence. Close to food, shops, transportation, and attractions, the hotel is easy find. The climb up 4 flights of stairs was daunting at first, but one adjusts. The climb is off set by the other conveniences. Good hot water. Convenient breakfast. Irecommend highly unless you are a very light sleeper because the bells and festivities may wake you. Try it, you won't be sorry.
My single bed was hard for my taste, and a comfy chair would be nice after a long day on one's feet.
A very nice cozy hotel which is situated in the heart of Firenzes' historical heart - just in 50 metres from Santa Maria del Fiore. Unbelievable view on the most famous pieces of Firenzes' architecture and you'll never get lost: all you have to do to find your hotel is to look for Santa Maria's dome. Hotel is efficiently managed by very nice friendly people. European breakfast is very satisfying. It is very warm in the room because of thick windows and a powerful heater which is essential for people who stay here in winter.
The hotel is on the 4th floor and there is no elevator in the building. But if honestly for me it was more of an advantage as it helped to become a little more fit :)
The owners were great. Good location, very clean, had a blow dryer. Wake up to the morning church bells its in the square with the Duomo.
Happy we stayed
The mattresses were tempur and soooooo comfortable! The view of the Duomo was amazing and getting breakfast delivered to your room was great! The sound proof wndows were a good idea as it is situated right at the Duomo - hardly even heard the bells!
Single room was very small. There were problems with the water - no water one night and no hot water one of the days (so no shower) but I think this was a temporary issue.
The service is outstanding - very helpful, but only as helpful as you want it to be; the location is unbeatable and the view from the Cathedral-facing rooms is amazing; the breakfast is decent; the rooms are tidy and spacious and have a pleasing, simple Tuscan decor; the price was amazing; the common area has lots of helpful books and brochures.
There was a lot of noise at night coming from the street below, which the soundproof windows cannot completely block (the obvious trade-off for staying in such a central part of Florence); the plumbing is typical of continental Europe (which did not bother us, but might surprise people from some parts of the world); it is up several flights of stairs with no lift (again, not a problem for us, but something for people to be aware of).
The location is great and the staff is great! They arranged all the bookings for us and took care of everything during our stay; the breakfast in the room was lovely. Thank you.
The location is great, but being very central may be noisy; tourists shouting during the night and trucks picking up the rubbish. Nothing that prevented us from sleeping though :)
